Associate Dentist

DENTAL CAREERS IN NEW YORK

LEADER AND ROLE MODEL

You will provide leadership and direction by excelling in all aspects of general dentistry. You will also set clinical standards through treatment planning and execution of a range of general and cosmetic cases of varying complexity.

TREATMENT AND PATIENT CARE

You will manage each patient’s course of treatment, including scheduling the next visit, overseeing payments, recalls, consents, and proper financial statements.

EXPOSURE

You will attend health fairs and establish relationships to enhance our exposure in the community, identify our patient base, and promote County Dental. You will coordinate with directors for continuing education seminars, and maintain a relationship with dental societies and schools to recruit future employees.

Dental Hygienist

Dental hygienists are oral health professionals who focus on preventing and treating oral diseases in order to protect a patient’s teeth, gums, and overall health. As part of dental hygiene services, those in the dental hygienist positions at our New York County Dental offices perform oral health care assessments that include reviewing patients’ health history, dental charting, oral cancer screening, and removing plaque and calculus from above and below the gumline. They also apply fluorides and sealants to the teeth to help prevent cavities.

Dental hygienists also teach patients proper oral hygiene techniques to maintain healthy teeth and gums, and instruct patients about controlling plaque and developing individualized at-home oral hygiene programs.

Dental Office Manager

At County Dental, office managers are responsible for making sure that our day-to-day business operations run smoothly. They work to meet our company’s staffing, training, managing, and organizational needs, and make it possible for other people to function efficiently. Office managers who succeed have confidence, common sense, loyalty, and the ability to motivate others.

We seek out individuals who are able to work with others and coordinate smooth operations. Dental Assistant

Our dental assistants help make each patient as comfortable as possible while he or she is in the dental chair, prepare them for treatment, and review dental records with the doctor. They also sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, prepare tray setups for procedures, and instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care.

Other duties of those in dental assistant positions at our New York practices include preparing materials for making impressions and restorations, exposing radiographs, and processing dental x-ray film as directed by the dentist.

BEING A DENTAL ASSISTANT AT COUNTY DENTAL

As a dental assistant you report directly to the Managing Head Assistant, the Dental Assistant performs a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. The Dental Assistant works chair side making patients feel as comfortable as possible, prepare them for treatment, obtain their dental records and instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
  • Set up and breakdown operatory post treatment.
  • Take, develop and mount dental radiographs (x-rays).
  • Manage infection control – prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Dental assisting experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Resume must demonstrate stable employment history.

Patient Care Coordinator

The patient care coordinator assures that each patient is fully cared for. He or she assists in communicating the needs of the patient to other dental professionals and provides additional support by scheduling services in a timely and efficient manner.

Office duties include scheduling and confirming appointments, checking patients in and out, organizing treatment records, sending bills and receiving payments, and maintaining the inventory of supplies and materials. The patient care coordinator works closely with professionals in our dental assistant and dental hygienist positions to ensure that each patient receives the dental care that he or she needs.

PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet and check in patients in a friendly manner.
  • Collect co-payments and verify insurance coverage.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
  • Prepare new patient charts neatly and accurately.
  • Various office duties as assigned by Office Manager.
  • Patient billing and Patient Collections.
  • Collect and post payments and record receipts.
